Metropolis, Illinois

By 8:30 the fog thinned enough to depart from Sky King airport, Terre Haute, Indiana. My thanks to Leah Ross for taking me to my motel yesterday morning and picking me up this morning. Also for the use of a hanger overnite.

I climbed to 4,500 feet to get above the haze. It was smooth flying all the way.

Landed in Metropolis, Illinois, just across the river from Paducah, Kentucky. My nephew, Terry Herrin will pick me up shortly and take me to his home. We will come back at 4:00 for press interview and meet a cancer victim.
